Bollywood actor, Asif Basra, best known for his roles in ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Kai Po Che!’ was found dead at a residence he rented in Himachal Pradesh. In the latest statement by Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kangra Vimukt Ranjan, the actor’s mortal remains have been taken for postmortem while the police continue their investigations into his death.
“Prima facie it is a case of suicide but we are investigating the cause. The body has been sent for post-mortem,” said SSP Ranjan in a statement to ANI.

According to reports, the Bollywood actor allegedly committed suicide on Thursday at his rented residence where he was staying for nearly four years.
“The actor was found hanging when the police and a team of forensic experts arrived on the spot. The police are investigating the case and further details are awaited,” Ranjan added.
He reportedly ended his life by hanging himself with his pet dog’s leash.
As per the police, just before the alleged suicide, he had returned from a stroll in the locality along with his dog.
No suicide note was recovered.
