Actress Kajal Aggarwal had all of B-town buzzing about her intimate wedding to entrepreneur Gautam Kitchlu. It wasn’t just the celebrities, but even fans who were left gushing over her dreamy photos and videos from private celebrations.
After wrapping up her wedding festivities, the actress took to her social media handle on Monday, to share some interesting tidbits about pulling off her nuptials amidst the lockdown. She revealed that the gorgeous yellow saree, that she wore during the pre-wedding festivities was a custom-made Manish Malhotra creation. Interestingly, the actress revealed that the stunning piece was created in June, while the country was in complete lockdown, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In an interview with ETimes, the ace designer spilled the beans about how he made this bride’s dream come true, despite the lockdown.
Sharing details about the fun and flirty ensemble, Manish said, “The Resham thread work is in Tuscan sun yellow. It has our signature embellishments.”
Completing the delicate handwork was no easy feat. The designer shared that the saree Kajal chose to kick off her wedding celebrations, took about 25 days to create.
Malhotra said, “Kajal chose this to kick start her wedding ceremony. It took close to 25 days in making it, with limited karigars in the lockdown.”
Kajal made sure to send out a note of thanks to the designer in a post that read, “Thank you for getting your team to create this beautiful saree for me, all the way back in June, bang in the middle of the thick of the lockdown- when nothing was even possible. I truly appreciate all your effort, hard work and the warmth with which you were a part of my engagement.”
Kajal and Gautam exchanged their vows at a plush hotel in Mumbai on Friday, in the presence of their closest friends and family. The star was forced to trim her guestlist owing to COVID-19 restrictions.
