INDORE: Indian Institute of Management, Indore (IIM-I) has recorded an average domestic salary of Rs 23.60 lakh per annum during the final placements for the batch 2019-21 for its post graduate programme (PGP) and five-year integrated programme in management (IPM).
This year, the average salary showed a three per cent rise in comparison to last year. The average salary of the top 100 students of the batch stood at Rs 33 lakh per annum, a release said on Monday.
The highest domestic salary and the international salary offered this placement season was Rs 41.5 lakh per annum and Rs 56.8 lakh per annum, respectively, it said.
“We are delighted by the continued faith the recruiters have shown in our students. Placing the largest number of students across all IIMs for the final placements during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic was a challenging task but the commendable efforts in setting up the virtual placement drive ensured hassle-free completion of the placements.” said Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director IIM Indore.
Apart from marquee recruiters, over 40 first-time recruiters took part in the placement seeking candidates for multiple roles.
Finance, Sales & Marketing and Consulting were the most sought-after domains with finance comprising 24% of the offers.
A wide variety of roles ranging from investment banking and corporate banking to private equity and equity research were offered by top recruiters in the finance domain. Sales & Marketing was a sought-after domain this year as well.
